iCell Climate Board

iCell Climate Board is a vapor-permeable and climate-smart building board developed to be an active part of the building’s climate shell. The board is used as wind protection, external insulation that breaks cold bridges, and supplementary insulation in both new construction and renovation – in walls, roofs and other climate-separating constructions.

The climate boards are based on wood fibers and are designed to work with iCell’s other system solutions, such as loose-fill insulation and insulation boards. The result is a robust, energy-efficient and moisture-proof construction with a long service life.

iCell Climate Board combines good wind tightness with high vapor permeability. Thanks to the hygroscopic properties of the wood fiber base, the board can buffer and distribute moisture in the construction, which contributes to a more balanced and forgiving climate shell and reduces the risk of moisture-related damage.

Clear insulating effect and low climate impact

In addition to its function as wind protection and climate board, the iCell Climate Board also has a clear insulating effect. With a thermal conductivity of λ ≤ 0.049 W/m·K, the board contributes to improved energy performance and reduced heat loss through the climate shell. In new construction, the climate board also functions as a stiffening layer that helps to stabilize the frame, which provides a more robust and dimensionally stable construction already in the construction phase.

With tongue and groove all around, tight and stable joints are created, which facilitate airtight constructions and efficient installation. The climate boards contribute to a coherent climate shell that protects the building against wind, cold and unwanted air leaks.

Documented low climate impact
iCell Climate Boards are covered by a third-party verified environmental product declaration (EPD) according to EN 15804+A2.
For the insulating wood fiber board (WF), the EPD shows a negative climate footprint in the production stage (A1–A3) of approximately –238 kg CO₂e per m³, which is due to the fact that biogenic carbon is bound and stored in the material throughout its lifespan.
This makes iCell Climate Board an active contribution in buildings with high climate requirements.
