Cellulose insulation from iCell considers the environment in every step

Effective insulation with environmental benefits

Cellulose insulation from iCell considers the environment in every step.

At iCell, we work to minimize our environmental impact in all respects. From raw material to finished insulation material, much less energy is needed than in the manufacture of, for example, mineral wool, a product that is also not made to be recycled. Production takes place entirely mechanically in a dry and cold process. We choose green electricity from wind and hydropower. iCell cellulose insulation can also be recycled over and over again.

Large environmental gains

In Sweden, approximately 4 million m³ of insulation is installed in our homes annually. With the right choice of insulation material, the environmental gains are significant. By recycling one ton of newspaper, you save:

Environmental benefits of iCell cellulose insulation

  • iCell’s cellulose is an organic material – cellulose from coniferous trees.
  • iCell primarily uses non-circulated newspapers in its production; by recycling one ton of newspaper, 19 trees, 4,000 kWh of energy, 29,000 liters of clean water, 3 m³ of waste, and a total of 30 kg of toxic waste are saved.
  • iCell cellulose insulation can absorb and release moisture, thus allowing the house to breathe with the help of a vapor barrier.
  • iCell’s production of cellulose loose-fill, from raw material to finished product, consumes significantly less energy than insulation materials made of minerals or oil.
  • iCell’s production facility uses electricity from wind and hydropower.
  • iCell’s manufacturing takes place in the middle of our Nordic market.
  • iCell’s cellulose insulation is significantly better from a work environment perspective during installations.
